HFCL to launch
VoIP
Punjab telco Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (HFCL)
has contracted Vistula Communications Services to deploy its
VoIP services. Under the terms of the agreement, Vistula will
integrate its V-Cube VoIP platform with HITL’s network,
enabling the operator to offer turnkey consumer VoIP services
to retail and business clients, including pre-paid calling
cards. The system will be fully hosted and managed by Vistula,
and is expected to be operational before the end of the first
quarter of 2006.
HFCL launched local telephony services in the Punjab circle
via its HFCL Infotel subsidiary under the Connect brand in
October 2000. Infotel now offers a full portfolio of services
in the region, covering 130 towns and cities.
